Now that's a sink!

I think it's due to the fact that I'm in the middle of a minor bathroom re-do at home (sink, faucet and counter top), but I have fallen in love with these new modern sink styles.  I am not a huge fan of ultra modern design, but I would love to wake up to these beautiful skinks every morning.  Clean and totally functional...who could ask for anything more?! Darryl Carter

I am in love with D.C. based interior designer Darryl Carter. He calls his crisp, clean and even toned style "new traditional". I don't care what you call it...I love it. As comedian, writer and actor Tina Fey would say, "I want to go to there!"

The perfect entry table!

I am a HUGE fan of entry tables. I think they are an easy way to set the mood and tone of any home. I also think they are the perfect place to keep keys and wallets! Here are a few of my favorites.

Homage to Wainscoting!

Weekend Project!

I LOVE wainscoting...just love it. So, when I had my floors re-done I realized that my staircase got lost in all of the beautiful "toast" colored bamboo. Did I mention I love wainscoting!? So, I went down to my local Home Depot and purchased some very inexpensive MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) and decided that I was going to add some wainscoting up my stair unit. What turned out was a simple two-day project that gave my only staircase the focus and attention that she needed. I loved it SO much that I wrapped it around the corner at the top of the stairs and continued the look at the bottom of the stairs going into my dining room and kitchen. This is truly something ANYONE can do...all you need is the MDF, nails, putty and paint...it's that simple! I don't have pictures of the finished dining room just yet, I've purchased a new kitchen table and chairs and have yet to capture them in a photo, but soon.

Side Table and Lamp redo!

My dear Aunt Betty in Oregon found this AMAZING side table at an estate sale and I fell in love with it. For my house warming gift she brought it down from Oregon and gave it to me! I then found this 1970's lamp at my local thrift shop ($5.00) and decided to paint them both a crisp, clean white. I felt like the table was missing something...so while at my local Ikea I found this perfectly sized round mirror and placed it on top. It's just what the table need to complete the look. It's now tucked in the corner of my living room with a couple of candles and a white orchid. I love it...thanks Aunt Betty!

Closet Complete!

We'll, it's been a long time coming, but the day has finally arrived! The master bedroom closet is FINALLY complete. From builders drab, to designers fab! This pre-built system from IKEA looks amazing, but is a pain to install. It took me and my partner Russ over three days to get it done. It was well worth the time! Just look at how everything has it's place and has that department store feel. We love it and are excited to finally have it done!
